Tampa Headshots. I should have this domain name. I do the best headshot photography in Tampa Bay, and it is most relevant for the search engine terms.
Instead, it leads to this photographer who really needs to improve their photography. How they get clients I will never know (although I do know that I book a lot more headshot photography sessions than they do on the basis of the quality of my work alone). If my headshots turned out like theirs, I would close my business and never pick up a camera again. I would not feel like wasting anyone's money, or time.
I may sound harsh here, but I'm really being objective and merciful. Well, maybe I'm a bit annoyed, really. I've been Tampa's top professional photographer for many years, and am considered to be an industry leader by other photographers, models, actors, and talent. Although business is good, I am really annoyed by all the wedding photographers who think that they can do what I can do and other photographers who are only in the business to make money at the expense of the people who they shoot, have other motives, or both. The unprofessional, unethical photographers defiling the Tampa photography business really suck. This is one reason that I have a photography association, the Tampa Photography Society . I like to pick and choose the professional photographers who I associate with.
These photographers, with their low-rent web sites made from cheesy flash templates, who spam search engines with poor writing littered with keywords such as "Tampa", "photography", and "photographer", really need to quit while they are ahead. As soon as I wrap work on these modeling resource web sites, my attention will focus on putting them out of business and knocking them down from search engine results.
Just yesterday, a Tampa actor called the studio wanting her actor headshots done by us. I asked her how she found us. She told me the search engine that she used and the search terms that she entered. I knew the combination from my SEO surveys, and asked her if she had noticed that other photographer site in the results. She said that she had, but she was not impressed by the Tampa headshot photographers work, and she called me because my headshots were the best that she found.
I suppose that top search engine results for a certain term isn't everything. You have to be able to deliver on what you claim to be offering. Another client taken from these aspiring amateur photographers.
